Aliens in The Wannabe Pirates?

Today we finally get to see Kerpapple and Dittzleboog, the aliens in Flemm’s “Lucky” “Hat.”
Back in November of 2007, I flew out to Kentucky so that McCrary and I could spend a couple of days discussing what we wanted to do with The Wannabe Pirates. Many of the things we discussed then have come to pass, but I distinctly remember us talking about the fact that we could really do any kind of story we wanted with The Wannabe Pirates and the example we gave then was having aliens.
Now, years later, we have aliens in The Wannabe Pirates!
What are they up to? What is this shield they are talking about? All will be revealed!
