Monday, August 30th!

What’s that? That’s the answer to when The Wannabe Pirates comics are going to return! We’ve got one more short week of “How To” strips and then we’ll be back in the thick of it again!

Don’t forget I’ll be appearing at the Dallas Webcomics Expo this Saturday! So, if you are in the DFW area, stop by and say hello! I’ll have the new coloring books there for sale! I just got them from the printer today and they look really cool! I’m going to run to the post office tomorrow and find out how much shipping will cost and I’ll post then about how you can order them online!

That’s all for now! More announcements will be coming soon!

Thanks for reading!

Polar Bear Puzzle

I stumbled across this today and thought I’d share!

A thousand years ago, I heard a riddle puzzle that was played with dice. Eight years ago when I was teaching myself Flash, I decided to see if I could create the riddle/puzzle as a Flash game.

It looks kind of primitive nowadays, but amazingly, it still works!

Give it a try! You’ll have to solve the riddle three times to prove you aren’t just guessing…

Dallas Webcomics Expo 2010

Hey, everybody! Largent here!

I haven’t had the heart to break it to him, but Flemm will not be appearing at the Dallas Webcomics Expo this year …but I will!

In case you haven’t heard of it, the Dallas Webcomics Expo (DWEX for short) is a webcomics show held here in Dallas, Texas. Check out their website to see all of the cool webcomics creators who will be appearing there. The show will be held Saturday, August 21st. Tickets are $5 and kids under seven get in free!

If you’re in the area, come on out and say “hi” and check out all the cool stuff that will be there. I’ll have something new this year: The Wannabe Pirates Coloring Books! These came out really cool! I’ll only have a limited number of them, so come out early to make sure you get one!

Curse of Greyhawk Island Wallpaper!

To mark the end of this story, I created this cool wallpaper! Starting today, anyone who donates any amount using our PayPal “Donate” button (on the left sidebar) will be sent a giant 1920 x 1200 pixel version for their desktop!

And in the Interim…

Hi everybody!

Wow! The Curse of Greyhawk Island is finished! It’s been a ton of work switching to CG art and a 5 day-a-week schedule. Which makes the prospect of doing another story even more daunting, but I’ve learned a lot since November and it’s got to get easier eventually, right? Right? :-)

I’m going to take a break for the rest of the week, so no comic updates until Saturday’s Greyhawk and the Starbucklers of the Caribbean.

Starting Monday, I’m going to chronicle the designing and modeling of one of the new characters and finish out a How to do 3D Webcomics series. This will allow me to get the resources built that I will need for the start of the next story.

We hope you will all stick around for Flemm’s next adventure!

PS–> We’ve made some minor changes to the website to hopefully make it easier to navigate. We’ve added a brand new “Stories” page that lists all of the stories so far along with descriptions and sample strips. Hopefully it will make it much easier for you to find the stories and be able to start reading from the beginning.
